But ... now I tell u ...
Mt. K Si Bei Xiong ARRRGGHHHHHHHH !!!
Eh Siao Eh !!! By the end of the desend everyone is "Dead Face" lor !!!
Ok let me tell you the story of the BEST O'Teck Trip that I have went for so far.
Day 1
The trip commenced on the early morning of tue 9th of Dec '08, with our Vice-Pressie Jovin and Biz Mag Head Jason (J&J) combo as trip ICs.
Yea I slept over at Douglas-Sama hse on Sunday night as we have to report by 0630 at the Airport, late as usual ... not first day in ODAC lar.

Haha we took Jet Star straight from Changi Airport to Kota Kinabalu, my first time sitting budget airline leh !!! Ok lar not bad except for "Not-so comfortable-seats", "No Tidbits",
But worst of all is "Not-so-chio-stewardess". Ok I'm disappointed.
Anyway the flight took 2 hrs and we reached around 10am at Sabah, Borneo. Its a very scenetic Island with many many small islands around ... reminds me of Pawai again.
We checked in to a budget hotel named City Park Inn. It was quite cosy and I finally know how it feels to be in a budget hotel.
Xuan Jie, Prof Gan, Douglas, me and ... "Mike Alfa Reco Cockster Oldman" was same room. Haha
We got the day to ourselves~~~so we went to watch movie, which I REGRETTED SO MUCH !!! 无聊 rite ??!! I could have went Island Hopping !!! *sob, all that Mitchell's fault ! Anyway I watched "Twilight" lar since like the book so famous.
Everything was cool and we had our briefing for tml when we will head to our main course, Mt Kinabalu.
Day 2
Alamak we "Fall In" at 0545 hrs, lazy bum me cannot gather enough determination to go buy Mac Breakfast, which I regretted very much later.

We took a bus to the HQ of the Mt K at 1,564m. There was a bit of hiccups, and J&J has to go and take some time to settle. Trip ICs have a high chance of unforeseen circumstances, hmm ... thats Main Comm 的宿命 ba I guess.
Luckily things were settle and the nightmare begins @ 1146 hr ...

It began to drizzle as we started, and I wore my
Gortex Jacket to deter the cold and rain. It was not long before I got very hot from the climbing that I took off and just wore my dry fit with shorts.
There was a total of 6km long of route to conquer, and a height till 3,273m. Every KM was like a yr long, the steps were high, the air was thin, and the route was neverending. As we climb, the food stuff such as biscuit pack bloated as the pressure was decreasing.
Very bad for some of us as headache sets in.

The view was spectacular so to say. We could see the clouds were all hovering below us, and the vegetation was quite nice. Yar after every 0.5 km, we were abit "Saey~~~" alr so we took pics.

I tell u, every step I took, I can only think of KFC. Not eating enough meat is enough to kill !!! How I regret regret ...
My imagination became reality as when we hit the Laban Rata Resthouse @ 1715 hr as Team 1, with Joy, Xuan Jie, Douglas, Aiting. Team Zero consist of Marco and Joy's Bro. Wah the food was SUPERB !!! Hot Soups, Bread, Mutton, Meats ! Curry chicken !!! oh man !!! mmmmmm~~~~
After dinner, we went to our hut "Pendant Hut" to spend the night. Oh man its built on the top of a rock surface~~~not bad quite cosy, but really cold lar they no heater. Temperature dropped till 9.2 degrees, and dropped lower. We "chop chop" finished our briefing and went to sleep @ 2200 hrs.
Day 3 was a Killer ...
Day 3
Guess wat ungodly hour we woke up ... 2 am !!! wah kao !!! There was a quick breakfast and I gobbled down 3 bread with lots of peanut butter and hot milo. I know today is a xiong day man ... confirm chui if no energy.
The climb to Mt. K summit commenced at 0246 hr.
Wah a torture ... the wind was super chilling. I'm clothed like a dumpling and climbing a never ending steps up. My throat was super dry along the way and drinking water was crazy as water was ice cold due to the wind.
I can only remember, strong gush of winds which I have to stop and block, stupid Ang Mo who stylo milo chiong but chui, cold water down my throat, and lots of stopage along the way while overtaking quite some ppl.
It was much struggle until I finally reached the summit of Mt. K @ 0606 hrs !!!
It was really a spectacular sight. Tons of stones, big stone peak around, all clouds below me, and the signboard of the summit. We took quite some pics, and I also took some solo time to just watch the greatness of nature and reflect.
And now ...
Via Ferrataaaaaaaarrrrggghhhhhhh !!!
Oh man !!! After 3 hrs plus of torturous climb to summit, next comes Via Ferrata, a new challenge course down vertically to base camp via the sides of Mt.K.
When it started my heart nearly fell out and my legs cant stop shaking !!!
Douglas-Sama even worst lor he really super scared. Wah lao its vertically down leh !!! There was no support except for some steps and harness to save us if we fall. Wah concentration was set at 130% as I really cant afford to slipped and fall man ! The cold fog rise super fast on the face of the mountain, and drizzle made us wet and cold.
The FrEaKiNg Via Ferrata took us 5 hrs from 8am to 1pm. By then Jovin's Face was grave dead and Douglas was like walking zombie. 600m down, follow by a 25min forest walk, ending with a 300m "Walk the Torque" by the waterfall. I cant believe I did it.
It was a victorius smile on us when we saw the ending signboard.
15min back into our hut, my headache is becoming very very bad. Heng I know how to take care of myself and I drank the Hydration Salt that Jovin advice us to buy. Took a 30 min nap and hell starts again.
This time round we need to get back to HQ, so its a desend. Ching Hui, Douglas, Xuan Jie and Me formed a Team and started. Biang oei ~~~ I laugh at the others when we started and said "Trekking down 是我的强项"
Wah ended up Joy and her Dad took over us like cheetahs.
It was a 3.5 hr desend down starting from 1623hr to 1749 hrs. The forest got dark and headlamps were used to see. Reaching the HQ with Jason's voice was good !
The others came in by 2100 hrs and we took the bus back to our town. I dun CARE ! we chiong to eat Mac Meals UPSIZE ! to compensate our energy loss and morale.
Slept at 2am, next day White Water Rafting !!!
To be continued.
