This time round I'm off to Jerangkang !!! Jerangkang is in Kuantan, Malaysia, and it is a waterfall trek like most of the ODAC trips. There was 4 Footies this trip, Weiling the Trip IC, Qingyong, Douglas and me. Other than us there was Prof Gan and quite abit of Seniors.
We met at Woodlands MRT@1900 hrs, before making our way to Custom on Bus. Clearing customs, we reached Larkin Bus Terminal@2200. I say...its the same procedure like all other trips lar. Haha we ate the Prata that Weiling said was nice there, wah the Teh Bing was fantastic lor, as if Condense Milk is FOC ... means sweet lar. But sian, cos the bus to Kuantan only reached at 0000 hrs, 1 hr late. The bus ride was 5 hrs plus, and we reached Kuantan Bus Terminal around 0530 hrs.
It was immediately breakfast when we reached. Althou my belief is to try all the Teh Bing in every stall I visit, but I scared Lao Sai, so I drink Milo Bing lar, prepare for trek needs too. The taxi came at 0700 to fetch us, changing into Lorries for the hilly roads along the way. We reached Jerangkang Campsite around 0900 hrs, and we went on to set up tent and prepare for the trek.
Well ... on top of the waterfall, I also took some solo moments whereby I just sit down and look down at the scenery. With water flowing through my body and breezes blowing, and a view of greenery everywhere, its a picturesque of tranquil and happiness. I guess it removes some of my mortally worries for that time being, and it certainly helped in recovery of my body and mind.
1430 hrs, we started the way back to our campsite. It was around 1630 when we hit back to base camp. Haha Douglas, Qing Yong and Me played the "No hands Challenge" along the way. How to play ? We dun use our hands for the trek down. Haha in the end I used 2 times my hands and Douglas got a small cut on his head. Eh but fun leh, it makes the trek more exciting and challenging.
Someone asked me to compare Lata and Jerangkang. I say Jerangkang is better !!! How so ? Cos after dinner, we had our OTOT, and we went to the BIG Rocks beside the waterfall for nite star gazing. It was so nice !!! In a pitch dark environment, the stars in the sky look so different, couple with the water sound and coldness, everything just blends so well. There, Douglas, Qing Yong and I have our Second Challenge, the "Sleep Without Tents Challenge". Haha basically, we will sleep on the rocks for the night, and see who cannot tahan the cold and move back to the tents. Not bad not bad, all the 3 of us complete the challenge, but it was rather dangerous and we kept sliding down the rock, and Douglas nearly into the waterfall itself~~~WOooooo~~~
