JunJie's Adventure 1 : Pulau Semakau

On 23 Feb, my frens from Chinese Division and I went to Pulau Semakau for a Eco Trip organized by NTU's Earthlink. Oh boy its a Fantastic Place man !!! Its environment is so 桃花源 and best of all, I managed to glimpse at my gone memories while I look out at the far sea ...

So who went? It was actually one of my fren, Bee Chu who initiated the trip, so much thanks man ! I wanted to go visit Pulau Semakau since a very long time, due to its reputation as a great marine ecosystem habitat, haha and also a Paradise for Fishing !!! Along with us was Yanshan, Ker Han, Yanni, and a special guest Cai Ping. 5 gals and 1 guy, I shd have asked Timothy to come lor he wll be thrilled to use his panaromic camera there.

We assembled at Huayi Guan@NTU at 1230 hrs, and the bus took us to Marina South Pier at around 1330. The ferry ride took us 45 mins, along the way passing through St John island, and also along Sentosa Cove (wah my dream house lor). We reached Pulau Semakau at around 1430 hrs, and all 6 of us took out our weapon (camera) and start to shoot everywhere haha.

Standard procedure follows, as we went to listen to a presentation by the staff.

The rubbish in Singapore are incinerated at our 4 incinerator plants, and the final ash products are transported by barges to Pulau Semakau landfill to be dumped. Pulau Semakau was previously a small island, and it was joined to a nearby island via barriers, and through landfilling, forming a Island. Due to its location rite at the Southernmost part of Singapore, tons of marine and wildlife came to settle down and make it their habitat. Thus there are lots of activities to be done, such as Birdwatching, Stargazing, Camping, Inter-Tidal Walk (will go for it one day) and FISHING !!! (Yes I'm definately gg for it)

After the presentation, we had a short ride around the island, before coming to a rest point at its southern part ... and as I looked out at the sea, all my memories flows over me ...

Yes, I see my frens, I recall the dogs, I recall the hard work, I remembered the job, I feel the memories ... I see Pulau Pawai. Its simply fantastic !!! After 1 yr and 4 mths from my last step on the island, I finally see the island right before my eyes once again, its a joy beyond description. I can see the Jetty at the left side of the island, and I can see the Barracks at the highest point of the Island.

Well words cant express my emotions at the point, other than expressing how I miss it by taking pictures of it and recapturing my memories as I sat down at just gaze at it.

I really miss you, Pawai.

Anyway, the trip was rather short (for $14 I'm not complaining), and we did not have the inter-tidal walk as I expect. I will definitely got for the walk, which consist of walking at the coral reefs during low tide, another time, it cost $39 for students wor.

We took the ferry back around 5pm , and reached Marina South MRT at 6pm, just nice for my other events.

It was very fun gg with my course mates sia, interesting ppl. Yes, A Bunch of Noobs (Our Joke of that day)

The day continues on next post.
