ODAC Trip 8 : Foot 08 Endau Rompin Reccee

This recess week I must be out of my mind~~~

With HC 205 History of China quiz after recess break and faced with projects from HC 214, MB 103, I can still happily go for ODAC reccee trip, this time round to Endau Rompin.

It was on a Sunday night when we "booked in" to Wei Han's house to stay over before the trip on Monday. So it was just random chats and internet surfing in the night as we wait for 5 am to arrive before leaving for the trip. This trip, we have Mike, Weiling, Weihan, Ee ching, Zhang Mei, Jean, Jit Hong and me.

We took cab to Woodland Custom, where we cleared the customs and walked over to the Johor Train Terminal. It was 6am when we checked in and the train came shortly after.

The train was rather fast, taking 2 hrs before it reached a station called Bekok, a part of Johor (Johor is so darn big sia). Then we have our lunch of Wan Ton Mee and walked abit of the small town of Bekok. I managed to buy something which I have longed for, Kampong Adidas, the Ultimate Cheap Shoe for Trekking. It merely cost me RM 4.50, so cheap lor !!!

After that we took the 4X4 wheel drive (RM 200) to our destination, Endau Rompin (Selai). We stopped over at the National Park office for some water top up and registration along the way. Then the ride took 1 hr exact, one of the worst ride ever of continuous bumps and rugged roads, cant sleep properly.

After we reached the destination, I realised that the hardship is worth it. What welcomed us was a river of tranquility and peacefulness of a forest. Wah cool !!! then I saw tons of fish in the river !!! Sian, no fishing is allowed thou~~~so sad. But we had some fun feeding the fishes with bread. We started the climb up at 1244 hrs, but after approx. 30 min it started to rain So Heavily that the guide has to initiate a retreat. So abit sian as we walked our way back ... I was like thinking "huh ...not another failed attempt rite??"

Heng ar, the rain stopped around 1400 hrs and we started our trek again. We choose a nearer waterfall called Takah Pandan. The trek was proven to be the worst leech attack on me since I joined ODAC as approx. 10 plus leeches attacked me, sucking my foot and in-between my toes, making me lost blood like sweat. It gives me the creeps and paranoid even as I think about it. But there was a fun part where I use a stick to poke Weiling's head and then told her that a leech has fallen on her head ! Haha so fun to make fun of our Da Tou sia.

Takah Pandan waterfall took 45 min to reach, and its really worth it. Nice flowing waterfall, with enough room for all to sit comfortably and to take picture. We took quite a number of pictures, totally getting the full reward of this trip. After clicking my shutter till my fingers cramp, it was time to make our way back. Along the way we stopped by another smaller waterfall for some more photos and rest.

We reached base camp at 1600 exact. Then its time to check clear our shoe wear for leeches again. So darn sian when I found out that I have 2 leeches sucking on me when I removed my sandals ... another round of bleeding like river

So we took the ride back at 1700 hrs, reached town at 1800 hrs. We had quite a sumptuous dinner ... but another careless thing happened to me again, I lost my Ringgit Dollars Pouch when we left ... wah sian diao.

Anyway the train ride back took a longer time, and we reached Singapore at 2230 hrs. Just nice for MRT !!! So happy.
